Resilience of elderly breast cancer bearers / Resiliência de idosas portadoras do câncer de mama

Resumo

Objective: to describe the resilience of elderly  women with breast cancer. Methodology: this is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, with eight elderly women who had breast cancer. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interview. The data were subjected to content analysis, organizing data around themes. Results:  the analysis show that the perceptions of elderly women about breast cancer associated with network support during the process of coping with cancer favors the phenomenon of resilience in these women. Conclusion: it was taking account  that understanding the resilience of elderly   women with breast cancer allows  a more humanized care. Keywords: Elderly, Breast Neoplasms, Nursing.
